Wallshoppe
Wallshoppe, based in Los Angeles, is a leading provider of fashionable and eco-friendly wallpaper, fabric, art, and décor. Known for their exceptional quality and unique designs, Wallshoppe has partnered with iconic names like Barbie™, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Clare V. For several years, we've been closely working alongside them as an integral part of their marketing team. Recently, we took on the challenge of refreshing their website, aiming to elevate its style and bring a more sophisticated charm to its online presence.
We began with a detailed audit of the website, looking for ways to enhance its look and functionalities. The site was already strong in e-commerce fundamentals, but we wanted to add a bit more flair. Our goal was to keep the products front and center, avoiding any unnecessary design features that might divert attention away from them.
We continued by reevaluating basic brand elements, leading us to refresh the color and fonts palette. We moved away from Gill Sans, which had a utilitarian feel that was masking the brand's personality, and introduced a combination of Playfair Display for headings and Barlow for body text. This choice infused the website with a chic, sophisticated print house look, perfectly aligning with the brand's aesthetic and ethos.
For the color palette, our goal was to evoke a sense of comfort and style. We kept the soothing beige as our base but brought in Herb Garden green for contrast, making the call-to-action buttons pop. To highlight bigger sections of information without being too loud, we added a fresh light green, ensuring a smooth presentation.
We also enriched the brand with a series of discreet duotone illustrations, specially created to highlight the brand’s WHY and the product’s HOW. We opted for a minimalist hand-drawn line art style with muted tones to keep the vibe friendly and approachable.
The aim of the website redesign was to guide users in discovering their style without overwhelming them with too many choices. We introduced the products step by step, bringing to the forefront the famous collaborations that were previously underplayed. A key feature of the new site is the shuffle section, designed for those seeking inspiration. We understood that filters and categories might not always suffice, especially when you don’t know what to look for. This section offers a more intuitive way to explore and find something they love.
Wallpaper comes with its own set of complexities, offering a wide range of variations and options. And that's just one part of what Wallshoppe has to offer. Besides wallpaper, they sell art prints, decor items, and pillows, so creating product pages that work well for everything was quite the task. We paid attention to all the little things, including a feature to "view in centimeter" for our international shoppers. We made sure each product page was informative, sharing the story behind the collection and the reason behind each collaboration. Plus, we added a "how it looks on the wall" section, showing customers how the right wallpaper can make their home look brand new.
The website is built on Shopify, ensuring a seamless purchase journey for customers from start to finish. We've integrated all the necessary tools for a smooth shopping experience, and orders easily sync with our client's CRM. We're also continuously adding new features, fine-tuning the website based on performance data to keep enhancing both the user experience and operational efficiency.
